Helen's Costume is a contemporary art gallery in a modified domestic setting, located in the Montavilla neighborhood of Portland, Oregon. A curatorial project that offers a fresh transfusion to Portland audiences, Helen's pairs Pacific Northwest artists with artists from around the world .

We opened in 2020 during lockdown, in the kitchenettte in the back half of a small duplex, at a time when all Portland galleries had closed their doors . In late 2021 we moved to our current location, a converted garage in a alley at the Southeast base of Mount Tabor. Helen's takes our name from a 127 year old shop around the corner from our original location, that closed its doors in 2017.

Although we are not directly aligned with Helen, pageantry and artifice are an important part of our makeup. We serve a similar role in dressing up the neighborhood.
