choked like spirit lake


slime’s underrated
we all love a fruiting body
we're all connected
by the toadstool dance
we're all invited to the mycelium party


lines like this bore
holes
through leaf
through flesh
throo


and i'm bored again
the new bored
where the hum never dips below din
where i'm a weevil twisting my head back and forth


sleep during the day in the dark dank dirty ground
tap tap tap gaps scratching at the door
on both ends they sound closer
more to the mouth than eye
veiny streams
elegant fingers pierce your veil
softly breathing
into an effigy of wood
a strange perfection
a sublimation
strewn, damaged and left with both nothing and everything
arm in arm
essential to living
couched in some of the same longings
a thin broth rendered sweet
hide yourself
my love
until finally it is too much
